The abstract’s role is to synthesize the major points of interest contained in a research paper, preceding the introduction. The How to Write an Abstract module introduces the fundamentals and breakdown of the abstract portion of a research paper. Additionally, the module engages students through the process of writing their own abstracts given  an example research paper regarding a well-known study.
